Tonight we are celebrating the approach of St. Patrick’s Day with the lively, joyous, traditional and innovative music of Wild World Irish Fiddle, Kate and Alex! Kate Rose learned a rooted, earthy, living tradition of fiddle-playing from farmers on the west coast of Ireland, gathering tunes and stories from the older generation in the 1990s. Her shows engage the audience, teaching dance steps, telling stories, and bringing the community together. Believing that all our roots connect when we go deeply, she journeys into vibrant, complex, and universal experiences through melody, mostly on fiddle but also some mandolin and Irish whistle, song, lilting, and dance.
